Dancing Trinity

Dancing 4.jpg

The kingdom of heaven is like what happened when a king gave a wedding banquet for his son. (Matthew 22:2)

Sweet laughing Trinity

Father, Son and Holy Spirit,

You who are outside our time zone

Blissful days without end

You are spending eternity dancing together,

Feasting at the banquet

Singing with the band of angels

Crying tears of laughter,

Celebrating with all who know you.

And this is the great absurdity:

There is an invitation waiting

With my name on.

“Come, join the party” it says

You have invited me – me! –

To share your laughter.

And somewhere deep down in my soul

I know that you who knew me

Before you formed me in my mother’s womb

Have seen me dancing already,

Part of the Great Dance from before time began.

So, I reach out my hands eagerly

To take yours.

Draw me ever closer,

Spin me round in reels of joy,

That your delight and pleasure

May fill me to overflowing and beyond.
